As if Capello wasn’t in enough trouble with the law, being under investigation for give false testimony to a trial in Rome linked to the Calciopoli football scandal, Turin authorities wish to pursue a tax case against Capello. They allege that he has €7.5 million of unpaid tax.

The timing of the investigation is no coincidence as Turin tax officials have stated that they do have a policy in place to go after high profile tax defaulters, with the view of making tax evasion a front page story, one such case being that of the legendary motorbike champion Valentino Rossi.

In 2003 Capello was found guilty of claiming to live in Switerland so that he would have to pay less tax.
