Fabio Capello under investigation for false testimony
Tuesday, April 1st, 2008It has been confirmed by Ansa, the Italian news agency, that England manager Fabio Capello is under investigation by Italian authorities for giving false testimony in a case against six football agents of the GEA sports agency. The agents are accused of promoting unfair competition practices, by using the threat of violence.

Capello is being investigated along with the former Juventus director Antonio Giraudo. When giving evidence yesterday at a court in Rome, Capello was unforthcoming with answers, stating that he “couldn’t remember” to important questions regarding his time at Juventus.
If charged and convicted, Capello could possibly face a jail sentence of up to six years.
The English Football Association have refused to comment on the matter.
